Oscar de la Renta showed his Resort 2009 Collection at the Third Church of Christ, Scientist (583 Park Avenue at 63rd Street)at 11:00 am today. The collection was all about living the good life. The colors were amazing - Caribbean blue, coral, ochre yellow, cocoa brown, and emerald green. Orlando Pita pulled the hair into a sleek pony tail at the nape of the neck - this created a chic silhouette of a small head that complemented the nipped in waists of the gorgeous dresses.
Tom Pecheux drew bold parallel lines on the upper and lower lids - creating a dynamic symmetry. Casting Director John Pfeiffer and his right-hand-man Kannon Rajah used models that brought vitality & grace to the flawless clothes. An orchestral remix of Coldplay was the soundtrack.Women models in the show:

The opulent intimacy of Stefan Beckman's set design reminded me of the Oscar de la Renta fashion show in the movie Bright Lights, Big City. In the movie based on Jay McInerney's book, Michael J Fox' character Jamie Conway sneaks in to a Oscar fashion show to plead with his girlfriend Amanda, played by Phoebe Cates, as she walks on the runway.
